The Doris Kennedy Education Foundation Scholarship

  • be entering a full-time undergraduate program of study majoring/minoring in a field of the Arts*,
  • demonstrate a need for financial aid, and
  • be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  • have maintained a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or above*,
  • submit two “Letters of Recommendation (LOR)” which describe your character, achievements, skills & passion for the arts, and
  • submit a “500 word Essay” explaining why they are the ideal candidate for this scholarship.
  • be paid directly to the attending school upon evidence of registration in an accredited post-secondary school, and
  • each be in an amount up to $5,000 (one time award per applicant).*
  • The DKE Foundation awards scholarships without regard to race, sex, religion, origin, age or sexual orientation.*

*TERMS & CONDITIONS: The DKEF will not award scholarship to applicants who are not qualified and reserves the right not to award a scholarship award in any given year. The minimum eligibility requirements must be met for consideration. Applicants that do not meet these requirements, as well as applications that are incomplete, will not be considered. The DKEF reserves the right to verify submitted transcripts & documents prior to presenting scholarship awards. You may only apply once for the DKEF Scholarship and, if granted, a one time award. Scholarship award recipients are not eligible for future awards. The number of awards given & the dollar amount of the awards will be announced each academic year and is subject to change. The online Application process is the only method by which the DKEF will accept submissions. The deadline to submit your Application will be 9PM EST on the published deadline date. Once the deadline for submission has expired, no other Applications will be accepted. The term “the arts” is broad scoped and defined by the US Department of Education as representing 5 disciplines – Dance, Media Arts, Music, Theater, and the Visual Arts. dtd 01.20.2024.
